Hi, I'm Mo

The most important aspect of leadership to me is giving back and engaging in my community as an active member.

Bellevue Planning Commission

As former Chair and current Member of the Bellevue Planning Commission, my role is to actively listen to neighbors and communities and collaborate with City staff to critically analyze and develop recommendations that complement the city’s Comprehensive Plan. During my time as Chair, I am proud of our work to listen to neighbors, small businesses owners and service providers to establish regulations for permanent supportive, transitional, and shelter housing that meet the needs of our community.

Wellspring Family Service

As a long time Board Member, Executive Committee Member, and Treasurer for Wellspring Family Services, I am honored to be a part of an organization committed to ending the cycle of family homelessness with equity and inclusion with data-driven practices.

Boys and Girls Club Basketball Coach

I was a volunteer coach at the Boys and Girls Club for grades two through five. It was exciting to watch kid's enthusiasm for sports grow and it was wonderful to be a part of helping them towards lifelong wellness.

I bring with me a well-rounded set of experiences and abilities that I have developed through my UW academic career, my Amazon corporate career, and my work in the engineering and construction industry.

Affiliate Assistant Professor at UW

After receiving my PhD at the University of Washington, I have been teaching as an Affiliate Assistant Professor across the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, College of Built Environments, and Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering Department.

Amazon

As a graduate and valedictorian of the Foster School of Business Executive MBA program, I was recruited by Amazon and have spent my career developing reskilling and upskilling programs for Amazon employees. These initiatives identify employees with the desire for tech roles and reskills them providing valuable career advancement for a diverse set of employees into higher paying roles and helps solve the tech talent shortage problem.

Civil and Environmental Engineer

My professional Engineering roots go back to before my 2008 move to the US. Upon receiving an undergraduate degree as a Civil Engineer, I worked my way through various roles to Senior Project Manager, always rolling up my sleeves alongside my team, managing large contracts, and solving complex problems.

Entrepreneur

Bought, remodeled and sold residential and multi-family properties. Oversaw properties currently under ownership and management.
